TVOD (Transactional video on demand)

A business model for delivering over-the-top content (OTT).

Transactional video on demand (TVOD) is a service where you don't pay subscription or registration fees, but instead pay for access to specific content. This often applies to movies, but also (sports) events are offered through TVOD.

TVOD can be divided into two categories: Electronic Sell Through, where the customer gains permanent access to the content, and Download To Rent, where the customer only has access to the content for a limited time.

An example of Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) for the Belgian market is Proximus Pickx. This platform allows users to purchase or rent films and other content individually without requiring a subscription. You only pay for the specific content you want to watch.
